Planned as a fun social event to meet your neighbours, housed and unhoused, and to preserve and enhance a wild, free, compassionate and beautiful Barrie. As discussed at the Barrie Library’s Councillor Drop-In Discussions on April 7th, 2019, this event was conceived as a way to connect the community of Barrie in order to promote an understanding of the collective needs and wish for a safe, organized, and socially just society. Food will be provided after the event. Local members of the community are encouraged to provide near-new or gently used clothing and camping gear at our proposed exchange. Discussions around community gardens and safe outdoor spaces for Barrie’s homeless population.
